We generally hire counsellors who were once international students themselves and train them to become professional Education Planners (EPs). We consider our highly experienced EPs and staff our most important asset.

We have designed and developed our own Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, a leading edge and powerful IT platform that our EPs use to support and service our students continuously. It also enables our EPs to offer them information about educational institutions, career opportunities and carefully planned study pathways tailored to their interests and abilities.

We established onshore offices in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the UK, major study destinations where most of our students look to study so that we can continue providing support and After Care Services to them when they have left home to follow their study plans and dreams. Leadership team
iae GLOBAL is steered by a highly complementary management team, who bring unmatched levels of breadth and depth in experience, expertise and business savvy in international education and related fields.
NAOKO HATAKEYAMA
Naoko Hatakeyama is a senior advisor at New Horizon Capital (NHC) and has been the chairman of iae HOLDINGS, Inc, the holdings company for iae GLOBAL, since NHC acquired a stake in iae GLOBAL in 2014. She is also a co-chairman of Mukoyama, which now owns iae HOLDINGS, Inc.

Naoko adds her strong experience and expertise in corporate recovery and strategy consulting to the international education industry, having been a partner at Deloitte Touche Consulting Group and a founding partner of the Corporate Strategy Group of Deloitte prior to NHC. She holds a Master degree in counselling and consulting psychology from Harvard University and is passionate about opening up international education opportunities for all, due to her own study experience in the US.
MICHAEL BARNES
Michael Barnes has more than 25 years’ experience in international education covering a wide area of disciplines. Michael has experience in building businesses and growing marketing teams in Japan as well as Australia. He formerly worked for the Tokyu Corporation in Japan and served as Chief Executive Officer at James Cook University, Brisbane. He has undergraduate and post-graduate qualifications in education, ESL and business.
HAYATO SAKONJU
Hayato Sakonju brings more than 20 years of experience in international education onto the iae GLOBAL executive table. Much like our Education Planners, Hayato was once an international student himself, having studied and lived in the United States before. Hayato has considerable experience in managing institutions in Japan and a strong Financial and M & A background.
MINA KWON
Mina Kwon has a career in international education spanning 24 years, starting at the bottom in sales and recruitment, and working up to her current position as the head of the iae GLOBAL operational and regional head office for Oceania in Sydney. Mina is presently the director of iae GLOBAL Australia.
